Service Delivery Hub

The Storefront is a hub model of service delivery. Simply put, the Storefront is a place for agencies and groups to provide services, programs and supports to the people living in this community.

The Community Resource Specialists support the model by reaching out to residents assessing their needs and facilitating quick and seamless access to the specific service provided by the agency.

This model is appropriate in this high needs community for the following reasons:

  • Community members know that this is a place through which they can access the complex world of social services

  • The Storefront is a local response to the need in the area

  • It is one stop shopping to address a huge variety of needs

  • The Storefront model integrates community members into the structure, ensuring that services and supports are responding to community need

  • Community members are able to access services with a minimum of bureaucracy or red tape

  • The Storefront is open and responsive to all community members from the full diversity of the neighbourhood

  • The Storefront model is flexible and can easily adapt to change in community need

  • Agencies and government bodies working at the Storefront can meet their mandates, in an effective and efficient way

  • The Storefront provides a foundation for new agency or government initiatives to run smoothly without the costs and difficulties associated with putting new community structures in place
