Partner Spotlight: Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS)

East Scarborough Storefront has developed partnerships with more than 35 different organizations who come to our neighbourhood to offer services to people who live, work, and/or spend time in Kingston-Galloway / Orton Park.

Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be using this Partner Spotlight to share stories and facts about the organizations who come to offer services and supports to the residents of KGO.  Please enjoy our first spotlight:

Today’s Partner Spotlight – Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS)

Catholic Crosscultural Services has three different settlement workers who come to The Storefront to deliver supports to the KGO community on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Combined, CCS settlement workers who come to Storefront on a regular basis can speak over 15 different languages, including English, Farsi, Azeri, Dari, Turkish, French Amharic, Spanish, Arabic, Italian, Romanian, Tigrinya and Tigre.

Their settlement services include supports such as:

  • Information about immigration and legal issues,
  • sponsorship housing,
  • health,
  • education,
  • childcare
  • applications for citizenship, Permanent Residence cards, subsidized housing, Employment Insurance, Ontario Disability Support Program, Ontario Works, and work permits.

CCS Settlement workers also offer referrals to Commissioning services and Certification of Documents.

There is one Settlement worker whose focus is to provide wellness support to newcomers, including one on one counseling.  (The poster shown below is an image.  Please call us at 416-208-9889 if you are unable to access the information on the poster about CCS wellness support services.)
