The Storefront’s Service Delivery Hub is one of the best known and most accessed resources East Scarborough Storefront offers to the KGO (Kingston-Galloway/Orton Park) community. At our hub, community members can find 35+ social service partners who help make their lives better – without having to travel to 35 locations around town! This Partner Spotlight comes out every 2 weeks, and features one of those partners so that you can learn more about what our awesome partners have to offer to people in KGO at The Storefront. CultureLink operates a very unique program called “Newcomers Explore and Appreciate Toronto” – NEAT. CultureLink matches newcomers with volunteer mentors who have lived experience as newcomers to Canada. Having someone who so recently went through the settlement process helps build stronger, more welcoming communities and helps newcomers feel more connected to their new homes through Citizenship education, Career and New Canadian experiences.
CultureLink’s Settlement Support worker is at The Storefront every Thursday from 12.00 – 4.00 pm, a Settlement service to assist residents / newcomers who wish to access NEAT or any of the other services provided by CultureLink, including citizenship mentoring circles, career mentoring, English conversation circles, Cyber Security Training, The Hospitality Language Training Program, Wintegration, Syrian Online support English Conversation circle, and more.
Anyone interested in accessing these services can contact a Storefront Community Resource specialist at (416) 208-9889, or contact Rubina Afsar from CultureLink at (416) 588-6288, ext. 218 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
