Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, grassroots leaders have been a vital part of keeping communities connected. Our Neighbours Helping Neighbours video series highlights the ways that grassroots leaders in East Scarborough stepped up to take care of their communities.

Elijah is from the Kingston-Galloway-Orton Park neighbourhood and has worked with East Scarborough Storefront, East Scarborough Boys and Girls Club and the City of Toronto to bring basketball programs to the community. In this video, he shares how his passion for basketball, teaching, and community-building has taken him on a journey to bring sports and connection to KGO through Sport for Change.
